As mentioned in previous emails for the past 2 years, Starbrite have been heavily involved in the York Barbican Pantomime. Unfortunately this year the Barbican are not holding a Pantomime and this is why we have decided to put on our own! We are now enrolling for our January production. Our new ‘Show Class’ will be starting at both venues this coming week. This will begin the preparation for the ‘Citronella’ production, which will take place over two weekends at the end of January 2015 (17/18th January and 24/25th January). The rehearsals and shows will take place at a venue in York and in our Shiptonthorpe Studios. Many costumes that were purchased this time round will be reused but some accessories will need to be bought to tie everything in with the theme. Due to our recent success, we have decided to make shows and performances a more regular feature within the Starbrite year. After all, attending a performing arts school such as Starbrite is all about performing, and we strongly believe that the more performances our members are involved in, the more they will grow in confidence and skills. As with all our events, these shows are entirely optional, but we believe they provide a wonderful opportunity for our members to perform, and for their friends and family to witness how they have grown in confidence. All show routines will only be taught in this class. Please note, the show class is taken in addition to your child’s regular weekly Starbrite classes. Students involved in the show must attend at least one other Starbrite class. Although it will be possible to join the class at a later date, those members which join sooner will be offered more prominent and varied parts in the shows. Auditions for main parts will take place during the remainder of this term. All students not chosen for a main part will still feature heavily in the show.
