Forwarded through the Embassy in Oslo Protest on death penalties and executions in Iran. Also here in Norway we are deeply concerned and upset by the continuation of political motivated executions in Iran. The hanging of tens of oppositional persons in the end of October now was followed by the hanging of the Kurdish political prisoner Serko Maarfi November 4th. The Kurdish Press Agency (KurdPA) claims that 357 persons have been executed the latest months. Besides of being unacceptable from Humanitarian and Democratic conventions, this policy is also bringing suffering to the Iranian people all over. Only the international campaign led by USA and Israel to isolate Iran are benefitting from this policy. Iran should tolerate and also inspire the progressive struggle for just national and democratic rights for the Kurds and other minorities, as well as trade union rights and right of free expression. Harsh suppression cannot stop this movements in the long run. As friends of the people of Iran, with all their nationalities, the Party Red Norway therefor are joining the growing protests upon the present grim policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and ask for an immediate stop of this executions.
