Happy Liberty Saturday, Everyone! This weeks lesson is short and sweet according to 1st Corinthians 6:12-20. If I may paraphrase - Dont do anything God wouldnt do. Yikes! Thats a toughie. Scripture tells us that our body is a temple and we are to take care of it and even many of the unsaved would agree with that. This weeks lesson clearly explains that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and not just our own. Because of Christ there is Liberty in our bodies; we can do as we choose but we must clearly use caution not to offend the Spirit. Also, as Christians, God has ownership of the body now by paying the greatest price possible - His life. And then God has License of our bodies meaning that some day our mortal bodies will be changed. Changed into an immortal body which will resemble the body of Christ. Soooooooooooooooo, knowing that God is owner and that his reward to us is immortality, we should take very good care of these temporary bodies, in respect of the Holy Spirit that is residing with us now.
