MAKING MEN OUT OF MERE MORTALS…YET AGAIN, THIS TIME IN VIETNAM.. “RFC Vietnam 5 June, a wet, wet news update from Event HQ 1 based at Tuan Chau island. It has been raining cats & dogs from last night at the Twilight Zone. Everything is soaking wet. The TZ comprised of a steep ascend of 500 metres tro’ bamboo forests up to the top & an equal length steep downhill to the exit point. As in the tradition of the TZ, teamwork will get u tro’ in this dreaded zone. Only 14 teams divided into groups of 3-4 vehicles each took this TZ challenge. Marshal group A inside the TZ reports of only 2 vehicles having made it to the exit point along the main track this morn; the rest are still in the great struggle to get out of both the awesome track & the rain. Face-Off at the TZ makes “men out of mere mortals” it is said, & it is proving to be true yet again in this current episode of RFC Vietnam. A second group of marshal team is now on the way inside to render additional assistance to Event HQ2 at the exit point. The main tarmac road frm the village nearest to Camp 1 is approx 1.30 mins frm Event HQ 1. The weather reports of more rain in the coming hrs. Event HQ 1.
