We spoke about the use of super slow resistance training and conventional movement speeds during lifting (e.g. 2-0-2 or 1-0-1) with an extended pause at the bottom of the movement (e.g. 2-2-1) as a way of increasing time under tension for the muscle and thus stimulating muscle growth. This clip uses 40-50% of 1RM for 2 sets of 5 reps with a 3-5 second hold in the bottom of the squat as a form of core and spinal bracing. I can see this exercise being very useful for rugby union tight 5 players. https://youtube/watch?v=uOPdAUawCvg
