Yesterday we walked 36.19 miles to our port of Marshfield MA. We got there to early actually so the ship wasnt there to surprise everyone. Since we will be on a boat for God knows how long, everyone voted to rent beach house for the night. It was lovely. We had what started as a small beach celebration for making it to our last land check point in the USA, but it turned into a whole other thing. When people saw a bunch of women partying on the beach they started flocking towards us, when they learned what we were doing and what we have already done, they called friends and they called friends and eventually the coast guard had to be called to break it up. We had a bonfire that night it was so cheery and fun. Ann Johnston noticed that the waves looked almost fluorescent like they were glowing in the dark. They actually were glowing in the dark. it was beautiful. Then I remembered reading something about glow in the dark algae that I thought was only in Puerto Rico or something. It must have floated here. Ann was dying to swim in it to see if it stuck to here so she could glow in the dark when she got out of the water. So she waded out, got right in the middle of it and IMMEDIATLEY started screaming. Turns out it was NOT algae. It was glow in the dark Jelly fish and she was being stung all over. She ran out of the water on fire with acid burns and screaming. We laid her on the beach trying to figure out what to do while she was still burning, the only thing I knew to do was pee on her to deactivate the acid but she screamed that she would rather die that allow that. Thank God a life guard who lived next door saw the whole thing and came out with a spray bottle of solution. She allowed us to take one picture of the burns this morning. We go to the dock around 7am and revealed that the majority vote had chosen the Marie McGee as our vessel of choice. We met the crew, our captains name is Captain Juan Obvious. We have a chef, Paco, and a full ship crew. No maids, sorry ladies we gotta do our own laundry and make our own beds. The whole crew is Latino yes, but they are cheaper. Everyone has selected their sleeping quarters and are still touring the ship. We will set sail soon as we finish loading supplies. We do have satellite wifi so i should be able to post daily. Remember, the engines are powered by the ships gym equipment. It will only run as long as someone is walking, biking, using the elliptical and moving. I have posted pics of the ships interior so everyone has a good idea of what its like.
