A report released by iSight on Tuesday allegedly revealed the Russian-based cyber-spies known as Sandworm, have exploited a Microsoft vulnerability in the past year. The main targets of the exploitation campaign have been the NATO, Western European government organizations, Ukrainian and Polish governments and sensitive industries. According to the report, the vulnerability - CVE-2014-4114, allowed remote execution of arbitrary code, via “an exposed dangerous method vulnerability exists in the OLE package manager in Microsoft Windows and Server”.
