After 5 long years, I’ve finally left my last fitness job, and freed myself to do my own thing. After 5 years in the industry, I’ve learned and saw how things could be better. Time and resources which were wasted by inefficiencies; expensive, redundant SOPs and protocols kept alive for mere posterity. Price of which were paid by clients and front end staff members. I was puzzled. But I soon see that like a snowball gaining size and momentum as it rolls downhill, a force strong enough to change it would be a force strong enough to break it. A course change can be lethal, and that’s why no change can be allowed. Which is why the only way is to start another snowball. I have a vision of a business where clients, staff and company benefit equally, where rewards are directly proportionate to how much effort you put in, from the client to the staff to the management and above. It is about justice. About what’s fair. We will not afraid to be told that we are wrong, or to make adjustments in order to be better. Instead of being in denial when problems surface, we will put our heads together and figure out a solution without delay. Unbiased by preference, unprejudiced by ego. A place unlike any other, where staff are not underpaid and clients not overcharged, where the business profits through smarts and efficiency, with systems serving the people rather than systematically milking them to the max before they leave. A company whose visions and missions are not added as a mere afterthought, but whose products and services are crafted to serve a bigger cause. If I can’t find some place like this to work for out there, then I would create one on my own. So let the snowball begin.
