Check this out! Ive never sewn a thing in my life. But after seven (yes 7!) hours, a borrowed sewing machine, two trips to Walmart, assistance from my great neighbor, Kathy McDonald (who I borrowed machine from) and FaceTime conversations/instructions from my mother, Audrey Davis in Minnesota (hence the tripod), I was able to sew 12 patches. Now the first one took 3 hours because I refused to ask for help. On my own, and mostly by trial and error, I learned how to thread and supply the top needle, wind and thread the bobbin, and sew on a patch with a zig-zag stitch with multiple layers. Additionally, I learned how bad it stinks to sew the back of the sleeve to the front with patches. That wasted about an hour undoing that mess. Two things Im looking forward to now... 1. Taking photos of Dash and I in our Cub Scout uniforms. 2. Starting on Abbys wedding dress. You might think at my pace I wont have time, but not to worry, shes not allowed to date until shes 25, so if I get started now...
