December 22: Astrological Commentaries from Lisbon. Bom dia! A joy-filled winter/summer solstice to you all! I have been a student of astrology for nearly 50 years and still find that this ancient craft is amazing! Scenario: It is 2am here and I cannot breathe--sinuses are all swollen and nasal passages are totalmente entupidos (Portuguese for stuffed up!). I get a little panicky because I would like to continue living (I mean it is getting really interesting now in this 7th decade of my wee incarnation)--and I have run out of nasal spray. I check the immediate transits and the Sun and Moon are exactly but exactly opposing my 8th house Mars (which rules as you probably know the sinuses, the nose, attacks to same and attacks in general, swellings, etc.--oh yes, and death!). Plus I am an Aries with Scorpio rising, so Mr. Mars is somewhat important to my chart. I knew I would be under some sort of attack at the New Moon and began to get a cold on the previous day. So I calm down to focus and conserve energy and that wonderful little Voice in the Silence says to me, Take your eye drops (eyes also ruled by Mars) and put those up your nose. I did what I was told and thankfully I found the I could breathe. Then that Voice continued: Check your toiletry bag. And there I found some cream for my aching back whose principle ingredient is camphor, so I boiled up a pot of water and put the cream in it and breathed in the fumes and things cleared up even more.. It was now 5am (it is 11am now here in Lisbon) and the exactness of the aspect is over as is the nasal/sinus attack. Have to love that Voice... Just another note re: the New Moon and Mars in Cancer, I am currently looking for a new home in Bali and within the past 24hours made appointments with two real estate agents to take show us some properties upon our return.
