I dont usually comment on news stories, but this one bothers me a bit. It is a story about a 4 yr. old boy that was mauled by a pit bull. Yes, the boy ran into the dogs yard and tried to take the dogs bone. However, this dog mauled this young boy horrifically. I cant even bring myself to list the injuries here. What bothers me is the public outcry regarding this incident. The uproar is not about an emotionally and physically scarred little human. The uproar in the thousands is about saving this dog. By far, more people are outraged that this dog may be put down. I like dogs and see their contributions daily to the safety and welfare of many people. But if I had to show support for anyone in this situation, it would be in favor of a human being. To me the dog is dangerous and not trustworthy. This is not an indictment of pit bulls or dogs, only a sigh of sadness at anyone that would think this dog is special and in need of support. Thanks for listening.
