I had the pleasure to hike part of the Appalachian Trail from route 4 in Cornwall Bridge CT to north of Falls Village CT. with my son and his friend Jessica on July 28th and 29th. I hiked 13.5 miles the 1st day and 15 plus miles the next. Man was I a sore dude the next few days. Long story but the short of it is, the 1st day I screwed up and parked in the wrong place. Jeff and Jess had to hike 8 extra miles that day totaling for them 22 miles each. They came out of the woods smiling and said where can we get some Chinese takeout. It put a smile on my face. I said I know just the place and its on me. That was a great treat for them. They dont eat much on the trail. The next day I left them on the trail at mile marker 1494 miles. On that day they had only 692 miles to complete the entire A.T to the top of Katahdin Mtn. in Maine. Go Jeff and Jessica !!!!!
