Id like to let everyone know that i have started an organisation to raise funds to help regenerate and tidy up Dundees playparks. The Playpark Project will work closely with the Dundee City Council and once I have my website up and running I will have a fund set up that anyone can donate to via paypal. I will also be looking to run local events, sponsored walks etc. The Playpark Project is primarily for Dundee just now but maybe in time, if it proves to be successful, I can rule it out to other towns and cities. I am a father to a 4 year old son who is very active and loves me taking him to the park. In Dundee, most of the local playparks are vandalised, in a state of disrepair and in need of some new equpiment or just some TLC. My 2 main focuses are to make the playparks more welcoming and safe for our kids and secondly to try and help combat childhood obesity. More and more kids these days spend too much time indoors, maybe due to the fact that they prefer to engage in their interactive devices such as ipads and what not, but also because a number of our playparks are either run down or just plain boring. This project will only work with the help and support of everyone who wants to make it a success. My full time job and hectic lifestyle might mean I cant be back at home campaigning every day of the year but I will do what it takes to make it work and if I make a difference in one kids life then im sure it will all be worth it. https://facebook/theplayparkproject
