Im getting these really odd private messages today regarding these two illustrations created of me, for me by Daisy Timonan. Cleo Cockateau, , Paula Rossow and Margaret Milligan messaged the following: Hey Jes, I think this content is my intellectual property, and it cant be used without my permission. Could you please message me back about this or take it down? Not mine but one of my friend? How dare you mutilate her beautiful picture! Nancy Walker private messaged this: Hey Jes, I think this content is Suzannes intellectual property, and it cant be used without my permission. Could you please message me back about this or take it down? The person claiming it as hers only photoshopped a picture of herself over Suzanne beias beautiful painting Excuse me, ladies but as an artist Ill begin by educating you that if you post a painting on the Into Her Net, you take the risk of copyright infringement as if an art creation is altered by 30% including size, you LOSE your copyrights IF you ACTUALLY have one and somehow, I highly doubt that you went through the U.S. Library of Congress to file an application. Secondly, (and Im speaking as an artist, here) if youre so worried that your precious painting, digital art or whatever is going to be used as a potential background for one of Daisys crazy beautiful illustrations I suggest one of two things: Either DONT put it on the Internet or perhaps watermark it, making it more of a challenge for creative people like myself and Daisy who may utilize it as an illustration to be internationally published for you for FREE in one on my series.
