MISSION DEPLOYMENT MISSION #2- October 3rd, 2014 Mission Name: “Letter to the Editor” Mission Objective: To give tap a more visible and more consistent place in dance publications across several media outlets. Our goal is to assemble 1,000 comments/thoughts of our members to be sent to the editors of print and online publications encouraging them to make tap a more conscious aspect of their writing and outreach. Often tap is included in a few of the issues but is not a mainstay as is the writing about ballet, jazz, and contemporary. Wouldn’t it be great to see an article about tap in EVERY publication, even if it was a small piece? What would you recommend to the editors and writers of dance publications regarding how tap is engaged with? How would you like to see tap presented in this medium? Write to us in the comments section….when we have 1,000 comments from our members we will personally petition these publications with ALL of our thoughts. Mission Goal: To have tap included as much as all other forms in publications and articles about dance.
