Mississippi State University-Meridian will be open today. Classes will be held according to normal schedules. We continue to follow the developing situation with the winter weather. In the Meridian area, any precipitation today is likely to be in the form of light snow. Counties south of Meridian may experience periods of light sleet. Areas north and west of Lauderdale county have a lower potential for precipitation. We are aware that some students may be traveling from those areas south of us. Students have been informed that classes will meet, but have been advised to avoid traveling if the risk is too great. We have asked that students contact professors to discuss any classes they may have to miss due to inclement weather. Please use careful judgment and common sense with regard to travel.
