To anyone who can show me Scriptural references in the Authorized King James Version (Be it from Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Naga, Burmese, any Chin, Mizo, Zomi or Thadou-Kuki languages/versions of the Bible or from any languages standard Holy Bible..) of the Bible where any Person was actually baptized with These words recited over them:::::- .......In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). This Phrase from Mathew 28:19 is one of four versions of the Great Commission that Jesus gave to His disciples. ROMAN CATHOLIC AND Many RESPECTED PROTESTANTS TRINITARIAN Churches today USE this verse when they baptize converts. But did the Apostles (The New Testament Church) and Disciples of the early Church pronounce these words during an actual baptism???????? The first baptisms of the Church founded by Jesus are recorded in the Book of Acts. On the Day of Pentecost, at least 3,000 people were baptized According to Acts 2:38....... ......... In the name of Jesus Christ..... (Read, Acts 2:38-41.,Luke 24:47., Acts 19:5., Acts 8:16., Acts 10:48., 22:16., Romans 6:2-3., Galatians 3:27., Paul said Whatever you do in word or Deed do everything in the name of Jesus...! Baptism in Jesus name is both Deed and word! FRIENDS, Aren’t you afraid if your form of water baptism is Not found in the Bible? Paul warning to people who would disobeyed Apostles Doctrine (Gospel) in Galatians 1:8,9!!! Friends, am not judging anybody here... The Lord Jesus is our Judge! I would like to highlight the Truth which was practiced by the early Church (The New Testament Church). God bless you all, Yours Brother in Christ, Dr.Paogin Mangte,ThD.,PhD Pastor,Apostolic Bible teacher and Preacher. NB:- NB: For those who seek the truth sincerely..... Kindly reward yourself ---- be baptized in Jesus name--- Galatians 3:27., Romans 6:3., Acts 2:38..... Remember, Jesus is the only name given for our Salvation...Acts 4:12., Mathew 1:21 ---- Zechariah 14:9!!). Theologians and church historians recognize that the Book of Acts does give the baptismal formula of the Early Church. The Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics says with respect to baptism in the New Testament, The formula used was in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ or some synonymous phrase: there is no evidence for the use of the trine name. The Interpreters Dictionary of the Bible states, The evidence of Acts 2:38; 10:48 (cf. 8:16; 19:5), supported by Galatians 3:27, Romans 6:3, suggests that baptism in early Christianity was administered, not in the three-fold name, but in the name of Jesus Christ or in the name of the Lord Jesus. Britannica Encyclopedia - 11th Edition, Volume 3, page 365 - Baptism was changed from the name of Jesus to words Father, Son & Holy Ghost in 2nd Century. Canney Encyclopedia of Religion - page 53 - The early church baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus until the second century. Hastings Encyclopedia of Religion - Volume 2 - Christian baptism was administered using the words, in the name of Jesus. page 377. Baptism was always in the name of Jesus until time of Justin Martyr, page 389 Catholic Encyclopedia - Volume 2, page 435 - Here the authors acknowledged that be baptismal formula was changed by their church. Schaff - Herzog Religious Encyclopedia - Volume 1, page 435 - The New Testament knows only the baptism in the name of Jesus. Hastings Dictionary of the Bible - page 88 - It must be acknowledged that the three fold name of Matthew 28:19 does not appear to have been used by the primitive church, but rather in the name of Jesus or Lord Jesus. Encyclopedia International, 1975 Edition, Vol.18, p.226 - The doctrine of the Trinity did not form part of the apostles preaching, as this is reported in the New Testament. \ New Catholic Encyclopedia, 1967 Edition, Vol.13, p.1021 - The first use of the Latin word trinitas (trinity) with reference to God, is found in Tertullians writings (about 213 A.D.) He was the first to use the term persons (plural) in a Trinitarian context. Encyclopedia Americana, 1957 Edition, Vol.27, p.69 - The word Trinity is not in Scripture. The term persons (plural) is not applied in Scripture to the Trinity. World Book Encyclopedia, 1975 Edition, Vol. T, p.363 - Belief in Father, Son and Holy Ghost was first defined by the earliest general council of churches. This was the First Council of Nicaea in 325 A.D. New International Encyclopedia, Vol.22, p.476 - The Catholic faith is this: We worship one God in Trinity, but there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son and another of the Holy Ghost. The Glory equal - the Majesty co-eternal. The doctrine is not found in its fully developed form in the Scriptures. Modern theology does not seek to find it in the Old Testament. At the time of the Reformation the Protestant Church took aver the doctrine of the Trinity without serious examination. Life Magazine, October 30, 1950, Vol.29, No.18, p.51 - The Catholics made this statement concerning their doctrine of the Trinity, to defend the dogma of the assumption of Mary, in an article written by Graham Greene: Our opponents sometimes claim that no belief should be held dogmatically which is not explicitly stated in Scripture... But the PROTESTANT CHURCHES have themselves accepted such dogmas as THE TRINITY, for which there is NO SUCH PRECISE AUTHORITY in the Gospels.
