Principal’s Corner James E. Howard CHS Principal This will be my final distribution of the HUSKIE RUMBLE. As you may already know, I am retiring with the close of this school year. There have been many changes since I came here in 2008. The high school has continued to show excellence as The Ohio Department of Education Report Card shows. The latest report from the 2012-2013 school year rated Cardinal High School “Excellent” for the12th straight year, despite having 3 fewer faculty members than in 2008, no bussing for the past 2 years, and an ever changing climate set forth by the Department of Education in terms of accountability, curriculum, and testing. Our OGT scores this year were absolutely amazing. And we had record numbers take both AP exams and the ACT. I am extremely proud of the accomplishments of Cardinal students and the highly dedicated staff which I have had the privilege to lead these past 6 years. I have watched with awe the maturity develop in many, many students over 4 years of high school. I continue to be motivated by a teaching staff that is so dedicated to insuring that our kids receive the best possible instruction so they are truly prepared for college or work. I will miss seeing and interacting with students every day and the professional relationships that have been built with the staff here. I will also miss the relationships with parents and community. In all, this community has really grown on me and I will be taking a huge portion of it with me when I return home. Again, thank you for the past 6 years serving you in the best job of my 38 year career. I will forever be a HUSKIE. GO HUSKIES! The Cardinal Schools will have a hard time to find a person to fill your shoes. 6 year a way from home and your family and now you have two families your in the HUSKIES Family. We know you will bleed HUSKY Red. One student said it best its bean one hell of a good ride.
