Proceeds of this fundraiser will go toward the Gitgaat First Nations legal fees as they challenge the JRPs recommendation that our federal government approve Enbridge Northern Gateway. These are the people who live down the Douglas Channel at Hartley Bay. When the BC Ferries Queen of the North started sinking in 2006, they raced out in their gillnetters and speedboats in the middle of the night, arriving before the Coast Guard and rescuing the passengers and crew, bringing people to their community hall. These folks know that ships can sink, and are working on several economic projects that wont risk crude oil spills.
