**REQUEST FOR POSTING & SUPPORT** SUPPORTIAN.ORG LAUNCHED TO RAISE MONEY FOR RECENTLY PARALYZED LOCAL SKATER, IAN IMES SANTA MONICA, CA – May 6, 2014 – Friend, bother, son - Ian Imes was paralyzed on April 5th, 2014 by a hit and run driver, while skateboarding Santa Monica, California. Ian is an important part of the skateboarding communities of Los Angeles and Boston and is known for both his skill and great attitude. “The launch of the SupportIan.org website is step one of our effort to positively affect the outcome of Ian’s healing process,” said Noah Lewkow, long-time friend. “Today, Ian is paralyzed below the waist, but this is not the same injury it was, even five years ago. Medical advances and a better understanding of how the mind, body and spirit work together leave us certain that Ian’s life will be incredibly full.” Ian has eight siblings and very loving parents. Unfortunately, the family does not have insurance or the financial means needed to manage his recovery beyond very basic state and federal support. At 20 years old, Ian has a tremendous life ahead of him, but the path to the fullest possible recovery will require significant financial resources and perseverance from the community. There will be serious, long-term costs associated with quality medical care, medical supplies, retraining and physical therapy, upgrading his home for wheelchair access, as well as peripheral costs, such as transportation, home-care, materials, etc. “Lets all see Ian smiling, skating, walking, and surfing again,” said Noah. “To get there, we kindly ask for your support in helping Ian recover. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated by Ian and his family. Thank you.” Please visit the new site and share with your networks.
