The Upsilon Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated will be holding our 2nd Annual Stroll to the Polls competition on October 29th. The event start at 8:00pm in the Ferguson Concert Hall on the campus of Christopher Newport University, but doors will be open at 7:00pm. One of our four National Programs is A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People. The program focuses on voter awareness and informing communities about the impact that citizens can have nationally and locally by simply voting and voicing their opinions. Our event will be centered on that form of awareness and will allow individuals to have actual participation. CNU organizations will be competing in a stroll-off competition, in which the audience will play a part in determining the winner by casting a vote towards their favorite team. To tie in our educational component, we will have Dr. Quinton Kidd as our guest speaker, and he will focus on the political process. The purchase of tickets will be available starting on Friday, October 10th. Tickets are $5, however if you repost our flyer, you will receive $1 off the admission price.
