This Sunday, August 3, we will be celebrating Holy Communion in all three services. Students are asked to bring their school backpacks, as we will ask them to come forward in the 8:30 and 11:00 services for a special blessing. In keeping with our practice, when we celebrate communion, we remember the poor and powerless with a special offering to be channeled through our Samaritan Fund. With increased need, we have had to choose to offer assistance through our Samaritan Fund every other week rather than weekly. This choice was made in order to allow us to give up to $50 in assistance to each client. Your generosity this Sunday will help us respond to the needs we continue to encounter. And it’s the first Sunday of the month. Please remember to bring some non-perishable food items to be distributed through our Food Pantry. We look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday. Pastor Mendenhall will be preaching on “Who’s New in Your Life?” based on Colossians 4:5-6 and Matthew 5:13-16.
