This is just a wee poem for my grandson, who I will not see this Christmas as I am here in Cambodia, its to remember a wee train trip we did together. I remember so well, the diesel smell When you and I took the train, and we came back again! I had asked your Mum if you would venture With your granddad, on a wee adventure She said Oh Aye he will be fine and off we set for the Highland Line! Once in Fort William our bet you had won And I had to sleep in the wee bed for one. Then the next day dawned, and off we went, to the Jacobite Express The main event!! We met two young Dutch guys, perhaps youll recall It was a lovely sunny day, the best of all! When we got to Mallaig and had a wee lunch, I remember one waitress, the best of the bunch She was kind and funny and a bit of a floozy When you called out Shes just like Auntie Suzie Now that we were fed, we headed back to the engine shed In Fort William the train was put away for another day I will always remember that special trip, when we had such fun And I dont think I was the only one So tomorrow when you wake, and I can not see you Remember that I am with you Pal To Harvey B From Granddad B
