Those who know me, know that I am against big government, however, I think that the Department of of Education should mandate the traditional A, B, C, D, F scale, also known as the 0.0-4.0 scale, be used in all public schools in the nation. This way all of us parents can tell how well our children are doing in school when the Progress Reports/Report Cards/Aptitude Assessments/etc. are issued. Ciaráns school is now using EM, M, P, and LP to grade five different veins in each subject of Math, History, Language Arts (ENGLISH), Science, etc. 20 fn grades for four subjects and I have no idea of how well he is doing or if I need to get involved.
