Unfortunately all too often we see this sort of sad result in our industry. When it comes to beauty treatments you really do get what you pay for and what you book for. What you are REALLY paying for when you book a treatment is a healthy outcome. What you are REALLY choosing when you choose your salon/therapist is a SAFE place to visit. THERE ARE NEXT TO NO REGULATIONS in our industry at all. What that means is that your health and your treatment outcomes are ONLY protected by the discretion of the person performing your treatment. With the inundation of home-salons, mobile-therapists, online-trained-beauty-therapists and beauty-short-courses so too comes increased risks to YOUR health. These three photos are NOT the work of Absolute Beauty, lets just make that clear. One was performed by a nail bar offering waxing, the lash photos were performed at a home-salon. Im not saying that these outcomes cannot happen in a salon or that they just happen at home salons etc. What I am saying is that each and every time you choose to have a treatment you need to choose wisely. When you pay for a treatment at Absolute Beauty this is what you are guaranteed: 1) We will only ever use professional grade product to perform your treatments, and the very best available professional product at that! That includes medical grade lash glue, professional grade waxes/sugars, MMR free acrylic, pure massage oils (no cheap additives) and pure silk/mink lashes. 2) You WILL always be given a therapist/nail technician that holds Australian Nationally Recognised Certification and a minimum of three years experience. Where you agree to see an apprentice/trainee you will know in advance and our apprentices are not allowed to work with clients until they reach our high standards which supersede those required under industry training packages . 3) Your treatment will always be performed in-salon meaning you are covered by public liability insurance as well as added risk-insurance. This gives you peace of mind that in the unlikely event that an adverse outcome occurs YOU are covered by insurance. Treatment Risk insurance is not offered to home-operators even if they are certified. THE risk becomes all yours when you visit someone at their place of residence (i.e home salon). We invite you to trip over in our hallway and break you leg as you have 100% cover for your medical expenses. 4) Our premises are inspected by Council to protect your health. Home operators are not required to have council inspection. 5) Our salon holds certification from the Radiation Board of Tasmania for our Laser services and all staff performing VPL Hair Removal are not only trained and certified but also hold licenses from the Radiation Board. Our equipment is FDA approved for your safety. In short we offer you the highest trained staff, professional only product and most importantly PEACE OF MIND. We (like all other professionally run salons/businesses) charge according to what we supply to our customer. We dont want to do $35 nails or $60 lashes because then we might have to skimp on product, training, certification or safety and thats something that we will never compromise. Which is all ok until it will never happen to me becomes reality like for these unfortunate ladies. And cheap/home-salon/self-taught isnt always bad but its a pretty good indicator of what you are getting.... The bottom line is - No matter where you go for your beauty treatments check insurance, check education, check certification, check experience and ensure they are using professional grade product - WHY? Because you deserve all of those things :) Tracey @ The Team @ Absolute Beauty
