Yet another misunderstood rattie arrived today! This little lady was a screamer when she arrived. She is 1.5 years old and was bought in because the owners were scared of her. She did bite them to be fair! She lost her sister a while back and since then her behaviour deteriorated, causing depression and lack of appetite and she ended up biting the toddler in the home. What she needed was company and the transformation was actually immediate! Introduced in a cat carrier and I was surprised to see her go from a screaming wreck being held in a towel to bouncing into the trio of girls and immediately grooming them. Once in the cage she started to binky about and they are now all curled up together. The great news is that after being introduced to other rats she allowed me to pick her up and that is when we found a mammary lump so she will go in this week to have that removed before it gets any larger.
