ZAMBIA’S REAL ESTATE SECTOR COMPETITIVE IN EMERGING MARKETS ZAMBIA’S real estate sector has potential to grow on the back of the current infrastructure developments which continue to encourage investment in the country. This is demonstrated in the recent investments in the sector with the latest being a major development by a Dubai-based firm in a joint venture with a Zambian company. This is according to press statement issued by KPR Consulting on behalf of Pam Golding Properties Zambia Rani Investment Director of Asset Management for Hospitality and Real Estate Bernard Forster says that Zambia is well positioned to attract investments in the real estate sector due to current infrastructure projects which could be a catalyst for growth in the sector. “Zambia is currently seeing significant infrastructure development projects which have the potential to unlock opportunities in the local real estate sector. As an international investment firm, we are excited about our investment in Zambia through Southview Park,” says Forster. Speaking in Lusaka at the launch of Southview Park, Forster said that as an emerging market, Zambia is a competitive investment destination for various sectors including real estate. Forster adds that the Southview Park project, which sits on 11.5 hectares is to be developed over time and will be a contemporary residential development with on site amenities of a golf driving range, clubhouse and several open green spaces. Southview Park will present an excellent location for a new family home, while also being suitable for the buy-to-let market, in an area where housing is set to rise in value. And Pam Golding Properties Zambia managing director Inutu Zaloumis says Rani Investment’s move into the Zambian market demonstrates international confidence in the local real estate sector. “Rani represents the level of international investment that Zambia requires to move the real estate sector forward. Southview Park demonstrates the potential that the local real estate sector has in attracting major investors and we’re delighted to be seeing this level of interest.” Zaloumis adds that Southview Park’s location will add to the development of Lusaka’s expansion and growth with residential, commercial as well as industrial real estate on the rise in the area.
