Naomh Muire 3-14 v St Nauls 1-12. The Seniors took both points against St Nauls in the Banks this evening. In an attacking performance which is up there with recent years top games by the side, the entire game was always one which Naomh Muire controlled. It was a perfect evening for football and the young Naomh Muire side moved the ball from deep at speed and St Nauls struggled to deal with the home sides support play and fast moving game. Some of the scores which often came from quick moving defenders moving at speed, were a joy to watch. The fact that many of these scores came from young lads recently promoted to Senior football added to the excitement of it all. The entire side and the subs who came on gave an all-out display and although St Nauls had a mini-revival near the end and indeed were never going to throw the towel in, there was always only going to be one winner . Earlier the reserves came from behind to record another fine home win against a more experienced visiting side. The reserves who like their Senior colleagues, played with lots of off the ball running and support , making it difficult for St Nauls to defend. There was a great energy in their play and they were full value for their fine win. Overall....on the eve of the Ulster final, it was great to record a league double pushing the Senior side into a strong league position with 4 games remaining.
