Dear Friends of CARES, For the last eight years, BET Networks - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends of CARES, For the last eight years, BET Networks has produced the inspiring BET Honors, a televised program that salutes those whose work honors and upholds our community. Each year, proceeds from the BET Honors ticket sales are donated to a nonprofit organization, and we are in equal measure proud and humbled that this year BET has chosen the National CARES Mentoring Movement as that nonprofit recipient. We are deeply grateful and so excited that the National Capital Area CARES Affiliate leaders will be in the house that night representing CARES and our founder, Susan L. Taylor, when Kanye West, Usher, Phylicia Rashad, Dr. Johnnetta Cole and other deserving honorees take the stage. A host of special, surprise entertainers will perform that magical night! We so hope you too will be there! The nationally televised, black-tie celebration will take place in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, January 24, 2015, 6:30p.m., at the historic Warner Theatre, located at 513 13th Street NW. Tickets—limited to two per person via this special invite—are available for purchase by contacting Lisa Purcell at BET, [email protected]. Prices are as follows: $500 Orchestra $250 Mid Balcony $150 Upper Balcony In 58 U.S. cities, leaders of the National CARES Mentoring Movement are working each day to recruit, train and deploy mentors to schools and youth-support organizations desperate for Black volunteers. Mentoring works miracles! National CARES is also building transformational group-mentoring programs for replication throughout the country, so that the nation’s most defenseless children—Black children—will have a sure way out of poverty to healing and high achievement. This is the big business of Black America. This is our cause! It’s going to be a special evening. We so hope that you will take part in it! Roxanna Bilal, Chairperson National Capital Area CARES
