One of these EpiTaph/EpiLog/Epiwhat-have-yous has sold straight - TopicsExpress

One of these EpiTaph/EpiLog/Epiwhat-have-yous has sold straight off the bench. The other ( shown here - in all its incomplete knottiness ) will be fretted and strung within the week. Total price will be $2450 ( including an SKB moulded case, not including insured delivery anywhere in the world - approx $40 within AU, $200 to $250 to Europe/USA ) This one ( Harvester #32 ) has the shallower neck profile of the two : 21mm at the first fret, 22.5 at the 15th & a nut-width of 43 mm ( 1 11/16ths :) ) The neck is Bolly Silkwood ( similar, though more lightweight than Queensland Maple ) finished in cherry to suggest the mahogany Kalamazoo products of yore. The Padauk fretboard on the completed #33 was a pleasant surprise yesterday when i strung it up. These are a departure from the Epi origins of the design - at almost 7mm they are cut more like the Bubinga boards on Rickenbackers - where the hard-wood board itself becomes a neck stiffening factor - it adds a little twang to the overall sound too. These will darken over the years and become a deep maroon-red. Scale length is my favourite ( splitting the difference ) : 25 Fretboard radius : 12 Bridge : Gotoh 510 Wraparound Total naked weight ( before parts/pickups ) : 6 lb Includes your choice of P90 sized pickup options ... ( add $50 per deluxe-mounted mini-humbucker if you prefer or add $120 for a genuine vintage 1970s Gibson LP Deluxe pickup :) ) New Old Stock plastic/phenolic knobs and switches - rotary/toggle/pushbutton array/ slider-phase-switch/ strangle switch etc Contact me if youd like to put a 1/3 deposit on this one - it can then be completed and purchased to a schedule you choose and with your choice of controls/ parts/ setup. if you are local and would like to play #33 before it departs let me know - theres a few dusty Vibroluxes in my chaotic workshop here in Western Melbourne and this particular guitar loves a clean leo-fender circuit with its light, resonant body and moderately overwound pickups. * There is a third reverse EPI neck pre-cut and hanging on the wall here - if anyone has an idea for a continuation of this theme - maybe with a more traditional rounded, lacquer finished body ? It is cut from Rose Alder which has a tighter grain and more of a maple ring to it ( has not been shaped yet ). Ill have just one or two more complete Harvesters to sell this year - before Im locked into commissioned works. ( Im now quoting May 2014 delivery on custom guitar commissions - from $2400 ( metal/hybrid necks from $2750 ) with 1/3 deposit down. Cheers ! Thanks for looking. Tell yr friends. AP
