Very late night thoughts... Today while driving back from Mt Pleasant from a cleaning job I was sitting at a light in downtown Charleston waiting to get on the connector back to Folly Beach and there was a man asking for with a sign money to get to DC and more important he was holding and shaking an empty water bottle asking for water. It was like 100 degrees here today and I can only imagine how it must have felt outside of my air conditioned car where I was still sweating. So tired and kind of in a daze thinking of all the things I have going on I watched someone behind me give him a bottle of water and I had just stopped to get something to snack on in between jobs. So I gave him a vitamin water and protein breakfast bar and it kept on going. people handing him water and food. Such a beautiful sight. I didnt question or care why he was there or what his story was. Because at that moment all that mattered was that he was a human being in need of something that I could provide. I had a job and home to go to. I had money to get another drink and snack. I could GIVE.. And it felt good to be a part of the giving that I saw happen at a traffic light in a town in my world in that moment. I love those kind of moments that wake us up from our own little worlds. He said he was just traveling down the carefree highway and he knew he would get where he needed to be...Bless his journey ....
